At HKM, we believe that the strongest bandhagalannu (bonds) are often formed over the simplest joys — a steaming cup of tea or filter kaapi, and a heartfelt maatu-kate (conversation). That’s exactly the essence of our much-loved “Maatu Over Tea/Kaapi” initiative!

Since its humble beginning, this series has blossomed into a beautiful parampare (tradition), creating a cozy corner of Karnataka right here in Hamburg. Every meet-up has been a celebration of friendship, laughter, and that special warmth only Kannadigas can bring. 🌺

These gatherings are more than just casual meetups — they’re HKM’s haatha shooka (handshake) to newcomers in Hamburg! It’s our friendly way of introducing them to HKM’s mission — preserving and promoting our bhashe (language), samskruti (culture), and sahacharya (community spirit) in Germany. They’ve also been key in increasing participation at our cultural events and showing everyone — from all backgrounds — how Kannadigas celebrate life with open hearts and joyful smiles. 💫
